At Velvet Witch we are all about the experience you receive while shopping, whether it's in store or online. We take pride in traveling to hand pick the crystals we offer and curate handmade items from other small businesses to bring you all the amazing vibes and unique goodies! Where are you located? We are in the heart of Historic Ghent, at 619 Colonial Ave, Norfolk, VA 23507.
What are your hours? We are open 6 days a week. Tue-Thurs 12-6pm, Friday & Sat 12-7pm, and Sundays 12-5pm CLOSED MONDAYS
Can I bring my familiar in? We have 1 shop dog! We have a big American Bulldog named Charlie that is our head witch's familar. He is very friendly and love scratches. Familiars are allowed as long as they are leashed and well behaved. We do have a back area, so if dogs aren't your thing, feel free to call or text us (757) 938-8999 and we will be happy to put them in the back so you can enjoy your shopping experience. We even have a familiar section in the shop for goodies for your babies!
How do your services work? We have a link conveniently located under the service tab here on the site, with all of the service descriptions and booking info needed. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram @velvetwitch and click on the book button to book a service. Some healing services such as crystal healings are performed outside of shop hours, so please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info on these services and to manually book your appt.
How do I submit products to sell? If you'd like to see if we would carry your goodies, please review our vendor information. We are a small space and a small team, have patience and if we feel you're a good fit we will let you know!! We do not review potential goodies in store.
I am local! Can I pick up my goodies in store? You can! Free local pick up is now available in checkout. Orders made Saturday through Monday can be picked up starting Tuesday at opening. It is mandatory you bring your confirmation email when you come to collect your order. We will be confirming every pickup!
Reserved Listings? What is that, and how does it work? A reserved listing is a way to order a product you may see on our social media or in-store, but not online. Just send us a DM on Instagram or Facebook, or email at email@example.com about the product(s) you're interested in and we can create a custom listing for you online. After the reserved listing is added to your cart, you check out like normal and can even use AFTERPAY.
Do you have gift cards? We do! Our gift cards are made by us and can be purchased in store. We are working on getting gift cards to be used in our online shop!
Are your crystals & smudges ethically sourced? We wouldn't have it any other way. We work with crystal wholesalers who own their own mines and who care about the people that are a part of the whole process. Our smudges, herbs and oils we carry are sourced by the people who make them. We also believe in teaching the history of the uses of these medicines from the Indigenous people who cultivated the practice and usage.
Where is my package? Our processing time for orders is 3-5 business days in addition to shipping times. We are a VERY small team so please have patience with us. Shipping delays are being experienced EVERYWHERE right now. Once the package is out of our hands, we have no control of the time it will take to get to you. Please contact the shipping carrier found with your tracking number for information on your package.
Return/Exchange Policy: We do not accept returns both online and in store. If you'd like to exchange something we'd be happy to do so as long as what you're exchanging is able to be resold, IN STORE ONLY WITH VALID RECEIPT. We can also offer you a store credit, IN STORE ONLY WITH VALID RECEIPT! For online purchases, if something has a manufacturing defect or damage, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work with you to make it right!
Shipping Fragile Items ie. Crystals, Ceramics & Glass: We absolutely do not want anything to arrive to you broken so we take utmost care in packing fragile items very carefully. Unfortunately after the item is out of our hands, we can only hope our carriers take care of the packages. As it's out of our control, we realize things happen. Please consider Priority and Priority Express shipping options when ordering something of higher value because they are all insured up to $100. Parcel Ground shipping option is not insured. We however can not be responsible for items after it leaves our hands. Again we are a very small business. If something arrives damaged, please make a claim through the carrier. We can not refund or exchange broken items.
Lost or Stolen Packages: We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. We hope your package arrives safely, however if this happens, please make a claim through your carrier. We can not refund or exchange lost or stolen packages.
We believe in the healing powers of earth medicine, however any metaphysical listings do not replace medical advice or cure any medical ailments. If there is something you need to reach out to a medical doctor for please do so. We are not claiming that these things can heal ailments that require medical treatment.
Imperfections are expected with crystals. We try to photograph the crystals as clearly as possible so you can see what you are buying. Please know that crystals can have natural inclusions on the outside and inside of the stone which is different than if one is dropped or broken.
